How it works

Five steps, and you can leave after the fourth

No account, no software, no fax machine.

  1. Add your documents

Upload a PDF, or photograph the pages with your phone, or both — a cover letter, a form and two photographs go as one fax up to 30 pages, in whatever order you put them in. We convert whatever you give us into the black-and-white pages a fax network actually carries.

  2. Check the preview

You see the converted pages before you pay, as one continuous document — the same pages the recipient's machine receives. This is where a shadow across a photo or a cut-off edge shows up, while it still costs nothing to fix.

  3. Enter the fax number

A US fax number, and optionally who it is going to. The name is printed on your record; it does not affect where the fax goes, so check the number against the letter or form you are responding to.

  4. Pay once

$4.99, charged once. Your card is authorized when you press send and charged only when the transmission is confirmed.

  5. Close the page

The send runs without you. Most transmissions finish in a few minutes, busy lines are retried automatically, and the result is emailed either way.

What “transmission confirmed” means

The receiving fax system answered and acknowledged the page transmission on your record. This does not confirm that a person reviewed the document, that the recipient organization routed or accepted it, or that any filing requirement or deadline was legally satisfied.

What you get

  • An email when the fax is submitted, and another when it settles
  • A dated transmission record with the destination, page count, timestamps and the provider's transaction ID
  • SHA-256 hashes of each file as we received it and of the assembled fax pages. A PDF reaches us unchanged, so its hash matches your copy; a photograph is shrunk on your device before it is uploaded, so its hash is of the shrunk file
  • Automatic deletion of the document 24 hours after transmission

What we do not do

We send one fax to one US number, up to 30 pages. We do not rent you a fax number, give you an inbox, send internationally, or look up the number for you. The one place we receive a fax is a single shared test line, published so you can check whether your own machine sends: it is write-only, the sender sees only what their own machine transmitted, and the document is erased 30 minutes after it arrives. If you are not sure where a form goes, the organization that asked for it is the authority — we send wherever you tell us.
